Look! It's Kidd!
What is a Kidd? (Other than a little baby goat?) It's I have no reasoning and a full understanding that it's not the BEST representation of a character I've ever done (see what she's supposed to look like here: [link] ). Hell, I almost feel bad about not having a cartoony enough style to do her justice Jenn's one of the niftier people I've come across in my years of net surfing artistry. Go visit her. Enjoy the abundant sillyness. Have a hoot! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a more technical note: 2B pencil, Windsor & Newton India Ink and Micron Pens. Photoshop and Painter. And, like, a bajillion precursor sketches to finally decide I had no idea what I was drawing, or how to draw Kidd and to just wing it and let whatever happened, happen. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh. Right. Hit download for a rather larger version where more of the details are apparent. |

As for the chest, there were two reasons for that, actually. I was originally tempted to leave it a flat cream white. A contrast of styles, as well as darkness and colors. My nit-pickyness eventually got the better of me and I ended up layering up from blue, to pink to through on to white though. I still tried to keep a general contrast up though.
Also, I work with my monitor calibrated to AdobeRGB standards, so I'm a bit darker than your run of the mill tft these days. That, again, is twofold. I print with an AdobeRGB standard, so it keeps up a steady line throughout my work and it makes things look a liiiittle better on the CRTs still floating around out there.
So, while I really, really do get what you're saying, it was purposeful!

Honestly, your liking it made my day! Well, evening. ...no, night. But STILL!

there's no DETAIL to it, no folds, no indentations or anything, it look really smooth for a curvy area like that, and that particular style of coloring... it just looks like there needs to be something there.
but it looks great nonetheless!
